Hi Everyone

I just wanted to let you all know why there have been no new posts on here since late last year.

I know some of you are aware of my ongoing health issues but some followers might not be so I thought I should add a quick update to let you know what was going on.

Although I'm doing this I'm not going into full details of my health problems because this is after-all a craft blog but I felt I owed you all some sort of explanation as to why I have not added anything for over 5 months.

For over ten years now I have been suffering from chronic abdominal pains that cause me to have to take very large doses of extremely strong painkillers, on a good day the pains are somewhat bearable with the medication but I am never pain free and on a bad day, which is most of the time currently, then the pains are debilitating. To give you a little idea of it imagine feeling like you are having labour pains 24/7 and that's not on a really bad day. On top of that I suffered a painful industrial injury to my back 17 years that causes not only pain but also limits mobility and have constant pain in my knees that also causes mobility problems too!! Urggh!!! On top of the health issues the medications that I have to take cause their own problems and side effects that can make me feel worse rather than better :( Although all these issues are ongoing I have found that these last few months have been the worst so far and have just felt like I didn't have it in me to craft or blog.

I do feel bad that I had promised you all some tutorials prior to this but I hope you can understand that if I have to suddenly stop posting without any notice it's not that I don't want to it's only ever because my health is making it too difficult for me. I hate letting people down and I hate the way these problems rule my life but I cannot do anything to change the situation, believe me if I could I would as I don't like not being able to create when I want to especially as crafting is one of the few things the takes my mind off all these problems - as it does for many other crafters.

I am not doing this update to look for sympathy, I just felt that as you all take the time to stop by just in-case I have added something new that I owed you some sort of explanation over everything, at the moment I'm not sure how soon I will start posting regularly again as I'm still going through a really bad patch that unfortunately has been made worse by recent exploratory procedures at the hospital but as soon as I have something new to share with you all I will post it. However at present everything I have done has been blogged and I haven't created anything new since my last post but I do have a few projects that are in need of finishing that I will endeavour to try and complete as soon as I can and then share with you all.

Whilst I'm writing this I would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone that has emailed me during my absence to see if I was doing okay or to let me know they were thinking of me, I have read every message and I truly do appreciate them all and I apologise for not responding but I just wasn't well enough to sit and answer then otherwise I would have.

Once again thank you for all your support, you are truly the best

Quick Update

Hi Everyone

I just wanted to let you all know why I’ve not added any posts the last couple of days as I had promised.

I’m actually in the middle of filming a bunch of tutorials for things that I’ve had requests for and as you can imagine they take time to film and then edit so hopefully I should be able to start uploading them in the next few days.

So far I’ve made a start on the most requested ones, of which the most requested is how I use copic markers, then what papers etc do I use and where do I get them in the UK. I’ve also had a lot of requests for the little dresses on the notebook I made, so that is in the editing process as is the little pockets that I make for my mini’s.

I’ve always said that I’ll try to provide anything that you ask for so if there is anything else you want to see how I do it then please feel free to either leave me a comment on here or to email me at theartofpapercrafts@gmail.com

Whilst I’m posting this I also wanted to say a huge thank you to my followers that come back regularly and read my blog, I know I’ve not been good at updating it this year and I truly do appreciate that you still come back and see what I’ve been up to!! I’m trying my hardest to post as much as I can now so if you want anything doing or covering then please feel free to say, I need the challenges to keep me posting!!!

Sweet Sassy Suzi

Hi Everyone

As promised I have another card for you today made using one of my new The Greeting Farm stamps, I have fallen in love with this make of stamps and I never thought any collection would be better that the Tilda’s from Magnolia but I think I love these even more than Tilda!!! I think part of it is that when I’m colouring I love doing faces and hair so as the TGF stamps have the larger heads it lets me play more than the Magnolias do, although I do still love Tilda too!!

For today’s card I chose to use one of the girls from The Wild Sprout collection, her name is Sassy Suzi and I managed to get her from Dies to Die for , if you like TGF stamps (or other brands!!) and you are looking for a UK website then please give this site a go!! Not only are their prices fab but their service is brill, I have placed two orders with them and they both arrived next day!! Plus because my postage was less than I paid Tracy refunded some of it!! What more can you ask for!!! Tracy is so lovely and has even offered to add my blog address to her blog!! (you can get to her blog if you click on her name above)

Anyway on to the card!!

As I mentioned above for this card I used Sassy Suzi from the Wild Sprout collection and I coloured her with my Copic Ciao markers. The backing papers for this card are from the Floral stack by Diecuts with a View and the card used behind the paper was cut with a scallop edge using Fiskars Cloud scissors (this card is also DCWV) The base card is from Do-crafts and to finish off the card I added some ribbon from my stash and some faux pearls also from my stash.

Here is a closer look at Sassy Suzi!! Isn’t she adorable!!

To colour her I used the following copic ciao markers

Skin – E50, E00, E21, E11, R20 (B05 for the eyes)

Hair – Y15, Y17, YR16, E35

Clothes etc – R85, R59, YG63, YG67, G99, R00, R02, R05

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Premium Ultra Smooth White Cardstock from Sir Stampalot and Sassy Suzi was bought from Dies to Die For

Dressy Ebony!

Hi Everyone

So today I thought I would share a card I made with you as this year I’ve not added many to my blog. I guess I haven’t added many because unless I’m working on Design Team’s I don’t make that many so I’ve not had them to show you. Whoever I recently got some new The Greeting Farm Digi stamps and Rubber stamps and have been playing with them and my copics so I thought I would start making them into cards to share with you.

Today’s card uses one of the Digi Stamps that you can purchase from The Greeting Farm website.

This particular digi is Dressy Ebony although quite a few people do use her as Alice from the Twilight series. As I mentioned before she is coloured with my copic markers and was printed on Premium Ultra Smooth White Cardstock from Sir Stampalot. The papers on the card are from Die Cuts with a View and I added some bling that I coloured black with my copics and some grosgrain ribbon.

To colour Ebony I used the following colours of Copics

Skin – E50, E00, E21, R20 (B05 for eyes)

Hair – E49, E47, E37, E35

Clothes/Headband – 100, C7, C5, C3, R59, R37, R35

She was printed On Premium Ultra Smooth Cardstock using Kodak printer.

Book for Robyn

Hi Everyone

I’m so sorry that I’ve not posted anything since the mini series but my youngest daughter has been sick and as a mum I have to put her first even if that means neglecting my blog.

Thanks for all the lovely comments about the mini, I was overwhelmed by them!!

Today I wanted to share with you a book that I decorated for my sweet friend Robyn, she is amazingly talented in her own right so please check out her blog HERE Robyn had left me a lovely comment on the idea’s book I made for myself so I knew I had to do one for her too. So here is the book I made for her

To cover the book I used some papers from Hot off the Press that I glued down with pva, once that had dried I sanded all the edges and inked them with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink and sealed the outer covers with Sparkle Mod Podge and the inner covers with Acrylic Decorators Varnish so that the papers were protected. I then coloured some pearl beading with Lettuce Alcohol ink and glued them to the crochet trims and then glued them all to the book. I took some chipboard letters and glittered them, once dry I sealed the glitter with Anita’s 3D Glaze. For the top part of the book I took a Magnolia image and coloured it with my copics, I chose this image because Robyn has been growing sunflowers in her garden this summer. To finish the book I added some silk and paper flowers and as I don’t have any prima bling flourishes I glued on individual bling stones to make my own.

To colour the Magnolia image I used the following copic markers

Hair – E33, YR23, YR20

Skin – E50, E00, E21, R20

Clothes – YR04, Y38, Y17, YG00. YG03, YG06, C1, C3, E49, E47, E43

Flower – YR04, Y38, Y17, E37, E35, E33, YG67, YG63

Shadows – W5, W3, W1, BV31

The paper I used was Cryogen White Hi Pearl from Craft Creations in the UK or Paper Temptress in the US

K & Company Mini Album for a Special Friend Part Three

Thanks for the comments I personally received about this mini, they mean a lot to me and once my friend receives the mini I’ll try to let you all know what she thinks of it.

So here are the next pages from this mini

For this page I covered the lunchbag with another of the designs from the collection and then sprayed it with Antique Brass glimmer mist. I then made a two card slider envelope and covered it with further papers from the collection, finally I added some prima flower, some with bling in the centre and the larger ones with brads so that I could add some cording for the closure. (If you would like to know how to make the slider envelope then please either leave me a comment on here or email me and I’ll try to get it done for you) You can see the slider in action on the YouTube video.

As with all the previous pages I covered the bag with paper and then sprayed it with Old Lace glimmer mist, I then took a coordinating paper and torn the corner to make a pocket for the page and inked the torn edge with Rusty Hinge distress ink, to decorate the pocket I added some 3D butterfly stickers and a text sticker from the K & Company collection. For a place for photo’s I took a mini envelope and sealed it shut then I used the Tim Holtz Alterations Brackets On The Edge Die to cut the top off, covered it with paper and inked with Rusty Hinge distress ink then tied some organza ribbon around it. I then took two pieces of card and cut to fit the envelope and cut the same edge on the top, I added a strip of paper and inked the edges and stamped the journaling spot with Rusty Hinge distress ink. Finally I added a bling butterfly to the envelope for added decoration.

Here is the mini envelope out of the pocket.

For the bag base I covered it with paper and sprayed it with Old Lace glimmer mist, I then tied some trim around it and added a Tim Holtz Trinket pin and a charm. For the photo’s I took a tag sticker and adhered it to a piece of folded card and added crystal lacquer to the butterfly and stamped a journaling spot on the back with pumpkin spice versamagic.

Here is a closer look at the tag out from behind the trim

As with the previous set of bag bases I adhered them so that they made a pocket and then made some tags for it. I covered them with papers and inked the edges with Rusty Hinge distress ink and stamped the journaling spot with Hint of Pesto Versamagic.

For this side of the flap I did the same as the other side but used a different sticker for the card.

For this page I covered it with paper and sprayed it with Old Lace glimmer mist. I then made a four fold card and added papers and stamped some journaling spots with Hint of Pesto versamagic. I also inked all the edges with Forest Moss distress ink, finally I took a sticker from the same K & Company collection and stuck it to some paper, cut it out and added crystal lacquer to the butterfly, then once dry I added it to the folded card. To add the card to the page I used a spring clip that I also added paper to.

Again to start the page I covered it with paper and sprayed it with creme de cocoa glimmer mist. I then made a eight flap photo and journaling card and covered some of the flaps with papers. I didn’t add any journaling spots so that my friend can decide where she would like them. Finally I inked the edges with Night Sky versamagic ink and added a butterfly sticker to the front.

Here is the card with four of the flaps opened.

As with all the pages I covered the bag with paper and sprayed the page with Creme de cocoa glimmer mist. I then took some coordinating paper and cut a decorative edge with the Tim Holtz Alterations Ornate on the edge die and added an epoxy sticker from the K & Company collection and a 3D butterfly sticker. To add to the pocket I made three ticket tags, I inked the edges and stamped the journaling spot with Night Sky versamagic ink, for two of the tags I added a butterfly sticker from the collection and for the final tag I added a Hot off the Press butterfly brad.

Here is a closer look at the tags.

After I covered the page with paper and sprayed it with Pearl glimer mist I cut a photo mat with a Nellie Snellen multi die then inked it with versamark and embossed it a couple of times with glitter ultra thick embossing enamel. I then added it to the page but made sure the I only stuck it in the corners so that I could add some little handmade tags behind as a place for journaling. Finally I added some Prima flowers with bling in the centre and sprayed a Tom Holtz adage ticket with Meadow Lush cosmic shimmer mist and attached it with a spiral paperclip.

Here you can see one of the two tags a little better.

For the final small flap I did the same as the inside of the first flap, covered it with paper and sprayed it with pearl glimmer mist, then made a library pocket and a folded photo & journaling card that I covered with paper and ink and stamped with Stormy Sky distress ink. To finish the pocket I added a 3D sticker from the K & Company collection. I then adhered the finished pages to the book cover.

So here is one final look at the finished mini from the side so that you can see the fibres and charms.

I would love to know what you think of this mini, I am usually not 100% happy with anything I make but this is one of the first ever projects that I’ve done that I’m really happy with!! The only thing is the I’m really nervous about what my friend will think of it as she is one amazingly talented crafter!!!!!!!!!

K & Company Mini Album for a Special Friend Part Two

Hi Everyone

I’m really sorry that I’m a couple of days late getting this next part of the mini album posted but I came down with one of the worse migraines I’ve ever had Sunday afternoon and whilst it’s now starting to clear I’ve been unable to look at a computer monitor for the past two days. In all honesty I should have done all the posts at the same time and scheduled them but it didn’t occur to me at the time.

So now I’d like to get on with sharing the mini I’ve just completed for my friend, again I’m sorry that it’s in so many parts but I wanted her to have as much room for photo’s as possible even if it is a mini album. So here are the next set of pages

I covered this page with paper from the collection and then sprayed it with pearl glimmer mist. Then I took two mini envelopes to make the pockets and added some coordinating papers, then I made a folded photo mount for the larger pocket and two tags for the smaller pocket. I used small pieces of the paper that I punched with a woodware border punch on the tags and added a butterfly sticker to the top, I inked all the edges with forest moss distress ink and stamped a journaling spot on the back. Finally I added some butterfly ribbon to the small pocket for decoration.

Here you can see the tags out of the pocket along with the folded photo mount.

For the base of the mini lunch bag page I covered it with paper from the collection and then made a pocket from matching paper that I added a border to with a woodware punch, I then sprayed the page with pearl glimmer mist. I made a tag and covered it with the same paper as the page and then stamped a journaling spot on the back and inked the edges with forest moss distress ink. Finally I added an epoxy sticker from the K & Company collection to the pocket.

When I attached the two bag bases together I made a pocket and the made two tags to go into it. The tags are stamped with butterflies from a Royal and Langnickle set using perfect medium and then dusted with perfect peals as was the journaling spots on the backs,

For this page I covered it with paper from the collection and sprayed it with pearl glimmer mist, I then made a fold out photo and journaling book that I added some papers to and then inked the edges and stamped the journaling spots with distress ink in rusty hinge. I then tied it closed with ribbon and adhered it to the page.

For this page I really liked the paper so I kept it really simple by just spraying it with pearl glimmer mist and then adding one of the stickers from the collection that I stuck to some paper, cut out and painted with a mixture of pearl medium and crystal lacquer.

This page was covered with more papers from the collection and then I added a torn paper corner pocket to the page and sprayed it with Antique Brass glimmer mist. I made a folded card for photo’s and journaling and used a corner chomper for decoration. I inked the edges and stamped the Autumn Leaves journaling spots with Stormy Sky distress ink and finally I added some rub-ons to the pocket.

K & Company Mini Album for a Special Friend Part One

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!! It’s lovely and sunny here on the south coast of the UK today which is nice for September!!

Today I wanted to start sharing with you a mini album that I have just finished making for a very special friend. She doesn’t know about it so I can’t say who it is for but she means so much to me and I really hope that she likes her little gift. I have also filmed the mini album and you can find the first part HERE on YouTube.

As there are a large amount of photos to be able to show the mini properly I’m going to do them over the next few days, so here are the first set of pictures:

This is the mini album closed up using some ball chain, the papers are from a K & Company collection from about 5 years ago that were designed by Elizabeth Brownd, they are called Garden Collage and Antique Botanicals. I used two pages from a US Michaels chipboard mini for the front & back cover and added an extra piece of spare chipboard for the spine. Once the papers were attached I sanded all the edges and distressed them with Stormy Sky and Chipped sapphire distress ink and then I mod podged them with the Sparkle Mod Podge. To finish the cover I added some feathers and silk flowers and leaf.

I added a binding ring to the spine and tied on some fibres and some of matching ribbons to the ones used inside the mini, then added a swivel clasp and some charms to finish it off.

For the inside cover I used an envelope to make a pocket and inked the edges with Versamagic in Night Sky. I made some matching tags for photo mats and journaling using coordinating papers,I stamped them with some journaling stamps from an Autumn Leaves set and some butterflies from a set by Royal and Langnickle using distress ink in stormy sky and forest moss and the used the same colours to ink all the edges.

For the inside pages of the mini I used small paper lunch bags and I inked all of them with distress ink in stormy sky and made matching tags to put on the paper bags to add extra space for photo’s (can be seen in the video), I left the first small flap undecorated so that my friend can put on there whatever she likes.

For this small flap I made a library pocket and a small booklet from the papers in the collection for photos and journaling, again I used a Studio G journaling stamp and distress ink in stormy sky for the stamping and inking the edges. I also sprayed it all with Glimmer mist in Antique Lace

For this page I made a pocket from a torn piece of patterned paper and inked the edge with stormy sky, then I used some stickers for decoration. I made a fold out photo and journaling book from the papers and stamped with Autumn Leaves journaling stamps using rusty hinge distress ink. Page also sprayed with glimmer mist in Antique Lace

For this page I made a pocket from the paper collection and used a woodware border punch to add a design and a quickutz die to make the nameplate that I added mini eyelets to. I made some tags for the pocket and stamped them with Perfect medium and a Aututmn Leaves stamp then used perfect pearls over the top and added a journaling spot to the backs.

For this page I took a white felt frame and sprayed it with Lily Pad glimmer mist, then I took some white card and sprayed that with Twilight glimmer mist. I stuck the frame to the cardstock and cut it out, added some rhinestones to the frames flowers and then added some acetate to the centre and finally glued it to the page with foam tape but left one edge unsealed so that a photo can be slipped in. The page background was also sprayed with creme de cocoa glimmer mist.

April Swap Tag from Cheryl

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all going to have a super weekend and that you all get a chance to ‘play’

So today is the final tag from the April swap and it’s from Cheryl who lives in Bedford, IN, USA. Like with Kim, Cheryl was also a part of the March swap and like with Kim I adored her March tag I never thought that she would outdo herself for April, but she did and again her tag is stunning!!#

April Swap Tag from Kim

Hi Everyone

So how are all the mum’s enjoying the kids being back at school!!! It’s been great having a little bit a quiet during the day but i do have to admit the I’m starting to miss having them about!! Whether I’ll feel the same by Sunday afternoon is another matter LOL!! All kidding aside they are good girls really!!

Tags I made for the April Swap for My Huckleberry Finn

Hi Everyone

Yes I know it’s months ago but as you all know by now the first part of this year was very hard for me and posting all the projects I made wasn’t always possible. The tags I would like to share with you today were for the April swap that used to be run by Louise through her blog but I believe it has stopped now. They were sent out on time but for some reason I forgot to add them onto here!!

The theme for April was flowers, as usual for my swap tags I used the same layout design for each partner but I used different colours on each so that they were slightly individual. Here are the tags that I came up with

Tag and goodies from Jules!!

Hi Everyone

You may remember that I shared a tag with you last week that I had made for my friend Jules, well today I wanted to share with you the tag that I received from her!!

Like all the ladies I’ve met through my blog and youtube Jules is amazingly sweet and also amazingly talented!!! We have a few things in common that are also not craft related and it’s so wonderful to have someone to talk to that know exactly how I feel!! She is so supportive and I truly treasure our friendship!!

Gift from my Sweet Friend Claudia

Hi Everyone

I bet you thought I’d got better at using my blog for the end of August but then nothing again for a week!! In my defence I’ve been really busy with the girls and getting everything ready for the start of the new school year on Monday and also that day will be my dear darling hubbies 40th birthday!!! – He has been fretting for the past couple of years about being forty so I don’t know what he will be like that day!! Also if he’s this bad over turning forty what’s it going to be like in ten years when he hits fifty!!!

Anyways with all that going on I’ve not been able to do any real crafting – although I do have a few projects part done that I’m hoping to finish early next week and then I can share them, so I thought I would show you a few things that I have received in the past several months but not had a chance to blog properly. Today I wanted to share with you a absolutely beautiful name sign that was made for me by my wonderful sweet friend Claudia. I’ve actually had this since April and I did show it in a youtube video but for some reason I didn’t post it!! It sits in my craft area in our bedroom and I adore it but it also makes me a little sad now to know that we won’t be seeing any future beautiful creations from her. For those of you that don’t know Claudia (66msclaudia on youtube) she suddenly and very unexpectedly lost her husband in July this year!! Claudia has six wonderful children and was a stay at home mum so to help her family she has decided to sell all her craft supplies, she has video’s on her youtube channel of the things she is selling if any of you are interested!! (If you happen to stop by Claudia, I love you sweetie!!) Anyways back to the beautiful sign she made me!!

Well!!! Isn’t it beautiful!!! I love it so much and will treasure it forever!!!

Tag for Jules!!

Hi Everyone

Today I wanted to share with you a tag that I made for my friend Jules. We met on YouTube and have become friends through a common bond of health troubles and whilst talking she mentioned that she wanted to start doing swaps but wasn’t sure about it so I suggested we do a tag swap between us. This was however months ago and then health and family issues go in the way for both of us but finally we have both managed to do the swap and now that I know she has received her goody box from me I thought I would share with you the tag I made for her.

For the tag I used mount board as the base and sprayed it with mango blaze and mallow blush cosmic shimmers, then I used a mask from the Veniassance collection by dovecraft and some distress inks to add some extra details to the background. I inked the edges with vintage photo distress ink and then covered the tag with clear embossing powder which not only stuck to the wet vintage photo but also to the ink from using the mask. I stamped a Rubbadubbadoo verse on the background of the tag with clear Perfect Medium and added copper Perfect Pearls over the text and then set the Perfect Pearls with spritz of water. I took a stamp image from a K & Company Life's Journey embossed paper and covered it with versamark ink and then added four layers of embossing powder to give the image a nice glossy finish. To finish off the tag I added some trim and flowers that I sprayed with Glimmer Mist and Cosmic Shimmers.

Birthday card for my Mum!!

Hi everyone

Today I wanted to share with you the card that I made for my mum’s birthday. Her actual birthday was in July but I wanted to wait a while before I blogged it.

For the card I used papers from a UK company called Papermania and they are from the Blueberry Hill paper pad. The frame is made from cardstock that I embossed with a brass stencil and then cut out with a craft knife and matted on cryogen white cardstock. Tilda is also stamped with tuxedo black memento ink onto cryogen white cardstock (that I buy from Craft Creations) and coloured with my Copic Ciao markers. To finish the card I added some Prima flowers that I sprayed with Glimmer mist and added a rhinestone brad in the centre and tied some ribbon around the card too.

Scrapzville Swap Mini for Clare – March 2010

As you probably know I’ve been suffering recently with some health issues and as such I’m extremely behind with some of my swap mini’s. I have finally been able to get my march scrapzville swap mini made and I wanted to share it with you.

The theme for the March swap was for it to be a recipe mini and as my partner Clare has a little one I wanted there to be room for photo’s as well as recipes, so here is the mini I made for her!!

Decorated Idea book!!

Hi Everyone

As promised yesterday I have another project for you that I’ve been working on recently. Like the notebook I also have paper all over my desk/craft area that I use for planning projects, drawing up card sketches, writing up patterns for projects etc and again I have terrible trouble finding the one I want when I need it. So I took a drawing journal and I decorated it up and that will now be where I write/draw all my crafting idea’s. Here is the idea book I came up with.

I have also made a quick video of both this idea book and the notebook from yesterday

For the idea book I used papers from my scraps bag and sealed them with sparkle mod podge. I added some chipboard letters that I covered with ultrafine glitter and sealed with Anita's 3D clear gloss finish. To cover up the paper join I added some ribbon, trim and sequins, the trim had also been coloured with Glimmer mist. I used a Whiff of Joy stamp for the image and coloured it with my copic markers and to finish the front I added some flowers that I sprayed with either Glimmer mist or Cosmic Shimmer mists and glued on some flat back faux crystals.

Decorated Notebook

Hi Everyone!!

I just wanted to share with you a little project that I have been working on for the last few days.

I don’t know about everyone else but I find that I have little scraps of paper all over my desk of things I want to remember and I can never find the craft list that I’m looking for!! So I decided to decorate up a little notebook that I can leave on my desk for putting notes in, that way I know exactly where they are. I could have left the book plain but as I’m currently struggling through a bad creative block I thought it might help to work on something that wasn’t important how it turned out. So here is the little notebook that I decorated!!

I used papers from my scraps bag so I can’t remember what manufacturer they are from and I sealed the book with sparkle mod podge. I added chipboard letters that I covered in ultrafine pink glitter and then sealed with Anita’s 3D clear gloss finish, I also added some pink rickrack and a couple of feather dresses for decoration. The back cover and the inside of the front are also covered in the same papers and the back cover is mod podged too.

Dedication page for Somer Thompson

I’m not sure how many of you will know the story of a little girl by the name of Somer Thompson. In October of last year she was walking home from school with her siblings and due to a disagreement with them ran off, she was abducted and sadly she died. I can’t imagine the pain her family must be going through!!

Feb Scrapzville Mini for Louise

Hi Everyone

Well finally, as promised here are the video’s of the mini I made for Louise as part of Felicia's (scrapzville) mini album swap for Feb.

The theme for Feb was to make a mini that used a line from a song that contained the word ‘LOVE’ – so Louise and I discussed which song we would like in our mini’s. Louise’s song choice was I Choose Love by The Coronas

So here are the videos of her mini – it’s in three parts because the first two show the mini in detail but for some reason my camera likes to turn everything yellow when warm colours are filmed, so I filmed it again to try and get the colours truer.

I really am enjoying making mini albums at the moment and getting to know other crafters through the swaps. It was a joy and a pleasure making this for Louise and I do hope we get to swap together in the future.

My First Swap Mini for Sharon

Hi everyone

As I explained I’ve decided to get back to scrapping for a while and because of this I joined the International Mini Album swap at The (scrap) Beach for Feb.

My partner was a very lovely lady by the name of Sharon who lives in the USA. We decided to make a love mini for each other and try to make it sort of vintage. Her favourite colours are pinks, purples, light blues, reds and browns, so with that in mind here is a twp part video of the mini album I made for her.

Tim Holtz Tags!!!

Hi Everyone

As I’ve been saying alot lately sorry for not blogging much but I’m not crafting that often at the moment.

When I do craft now it’s mainly mini albums so they take me a lot more time than a card does. I will however be adding video’s of them once they are finished.

I’ve also been away at the UK craft trade show ‘Stitches’ which was amazing as always. Whilst there I got to spend tome with Tim Holtz again and he very kindly made me one of his fab tags. I’ve also be making tags for a tag swap that I was a part of for Feb, the swap is run by Louise (ZettiBetti) and you can find her blog here

Anyways here is the video of the tag from Tim and the tags I made for the swap – I hope you like them.

My First Mini Album

Hi Everyone

Sorry again for not blogging much but as I’m currently not on any design teams, I’m not crafting that much so I don’t often have anything to blog.

I have just completed my first ever mini album and I will try to get some photo’s up on here soon but it’s quite dull and overcast in this part of the UK at present and they don’t look that great.

I have added a video of my mini on Youtube but again it’s quite dark. I will try to add it to this post but incase it doesn’t work my youtube channel is theartofpapercrafts

I’d love to know what you all think.

Hopefully – I’m back!!!

Hi Everyone

I know all I’m doing lately when I get to blog is apologise but again I’m really sorry for disappearing, I’m still not 100% and then to make things worse when the bad weather arrived I lost all internet access for about two weeks – anyone from the UK will understand when I say that as a country we don’t cope well with bad weather and it seems neither does the internet either. On top of that I have a very sick daughter so I’ve been unable to get to do much in the way of crafting since last year but my family had to come first. Hopefully things are now starting to get a bit better, although I’m not back to normal things are much better than they were and I have to say a huge thanks to everyone for their kind wishes – you are amazingly special ladies!!!

As a way of an apology I do have a card for you that I actually made for the Sew Many Cards Challenge #1 but was unable to email and post due to the internet issues. It uses one of the new releases from the January freebie set that you can get if you spend over $10 at the Sew Many Cards Store so why not go and check them out!!!

For this card I chose to use one of the cute new images of Toga with flowers. I have coloured her in with my copic markers using YG00, YG03, YG06, YG63, YG67, BG10, R11, R20, R32, W1, W3, E31, E50, E51, E53, RV10, RV13, B05, G21 and then added some decoart pearlizing medium over the flowers, hearts and patch. For the rest of the card I crinkled and distress inked some Hot off the Press papers with Ranger Distress ink in Vintage Photo and then hand stitched it to the base card with embroidery floss. I also rubbed my pink twill ribbon through the distress pad too and stitched that to the card as well. I inked the edge of the digi stamp image with Antique Linen Distress ink before mounting it on pink card stock and adding a punched border to the bottom made with a fiskars border punch. Once the image was adhered to the card I added some stitching to the edges to tie it all together and to finish the card I added some metal alphabet disks from Papermania.

Sorry for disappearing!!!

Hi Everyone

I'm really sorry that I've abandonded my blog for the last 6 weeks or so but I've been extremely ill and unable to work.

I did schedule a few posts for over the christmas period but they have managed to disappear off the face of the earth some how so I appologise to my DT's that should have had items posted too.

Due to my current health issues I've had to resign from virtually all my DT positions and I am no longer the Co-Owner/ DT Co-Ordinator of Robyn's Fetish either. I will try to post as much as I can and keep you informed of things that are going on.

Robyn’s Fetish Weekly Challenge #7

Hi Everyone

Today Robyn's Fetish launches their new weekly challenge on their challenge blog

The challenge this week is a Style Challenge – to make a card/paper crafts project that in either a shabby chic or vintage style or feel to it.

If you would like to take part in the challenge you can find all the details on the challenge blog. The challenge runs until 12pm EST Friday 27th November and to enter you can either leave a link to your creation in the comments section of the post on the challenge blog or email your project to Donna at theartofpapercrafts@hotmail.co.uk One lucky winner will receive 6 digi stamps of their choosing from the store – you can find the store HERE

As a Design Team member we were set the same challenge too, so here is my take on it

For my card I chose to use the stamp of Tammy – I first coloured her with my Warm Grey copic markers W1, W3, W5 & W7, them I added colour to the image with YG95, RV02, RV04, Eoo, R11, YR23 and RV000. I then inked over the entire image with Rangers Distress Ink in Old Paper, using the distress inking tool, and then added Antique Linen and Tea Dye to the edges. I then distressed the edges of the image and inked again with Tea Dye. I embossed all my cardstock from Coredinations with a Fiskars Texture plate and then sanded it and inked with Distress ink in Shabby Shutters and Tea Dye, I also ran the paper distressing tool along all the edges and inked them with the Tea Dye pad. I used patterned papers from a K & Company paper pad and distressed, sanded and inked them with the same distress inks. To add a stitched effect I used some stamps from a Hot off the Press set with Versamark ink and embossed with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Embossing powders. To finish the card I used a Woodware border punch, added some grosgrain ribbon that I also inked with distress ink and finally added a charm and a rusty key from my stash.

Sewn Together Challenge #13

Hi Everyone

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone that takes the time to visit my blog and also leave comments – I really do appreciate it and you are all so kind.

Today see’s the launch of the new weekly challenge from Sew Many Cards. This weeks challenge is a Colour Challenge

The challenge is to make a card/ paper crafts project using only the colours Brown, Orange and Green for your papers, card stock and embellishments, you can however us other colours on your Sewn Together image.

As a Design Team member we were asked to take the challenge too, so here is my take on it

For my challenge card I chose to use the new digi stamp of Angela’s puppy Hershey!!! and I coloured him with my copic markers. My patterned papers are from a Papermania pack that I purchased from QVCUK a few years ago. TO finish the card I added a punched border using a Woodware border punch and shaped the edge with some Fiskars Victorian paper edger scissors, then I added some grosgrain ribbon, some text cut with one of my Quickutz alphabets and some buttons from my stash.

Girl Elf from KLM Designs

Hi Everyone

As you may have gathered by now I adore the digi stamps from KLM Designs so I thought I would show you another card made using one of the new releases for November

This time I decided to use the girl version of the Elf from last week and below is the card I came up with – although I adore the image I’m not completely happy with the card but I think this cold isn’t helping.

For this card I decided to use my prismacolor pencils and blended them with a Lyra Rembrandt Slender Blender pencil (but the Prismacolor PC 1077 Colorless Blender would work too) . The papers are from an old paper pack by Papermania and I finished the card with some snowflakes cut with an X-cut punch with a rhinestone in the centre and some grosgrain ribbon.

Tilda with Thistle

I just wanted to show you a card I made a few weeks ago with one of the ever so cute Tilda stamps from Magnolia.

This card was made for a friend in the US – I really hope she likes it!!

This stamp is called Tilda with Thistle and I coloured her with my copic markers. The papers are from a Diecuts with a View set that I purchased from QVCUK. To finish the card I added some grosgrain ribbon and some buttons from my stash.

Sewn Together Weekly Challenge #12

Hi Everyone

Well it’s that time again to tell you all about the new weekly challenge from Sew Many Cards

This week the challenge is to make a card or paper craft project that is for Christmas and has bows – they can be ribbon, paper anything you like just so long as they are bows. For more details on entering etc see Angela’s blog HERE

For my challenge card I chose to use a previous Freebie Friday image of Santa with a Kangaroo and I coloured it with my copic markers. For the background papers I used some from a Diecuts with a View set that I purchased from QVCUK. To finish the card I added a grosgrain ribbon and bow and some faux pearls coloured with copics to match.

Robyn’s Fetish Weekly Challenge #5

Today sees the start of the new weekly challenge from Robyn's Fetish

The Challenge set for this week is a recipe challenge and you can find all the details and the recipe on the challenge blog HERE

The Design Team were also asked to take the challenge, my card is below and you can also find links to my fab Design Team mates in my side bar so you can see what they came up with too.

For my challenge card I chose to use Gretchen Garden Gal as my image and coloured her with my copic markers. I chose matching papers from a K & Company pad called Yellow Floral. To finish the card I added some grosgrain ribbon, a border punch strip, flowers, bling and some Sakura Glitter Gel pen to the image.

Package Elf by KLM Designs

Hi Everyone

Today I thought I would show you another one of the new releases from KLM Designs for November.

They have come up with some really lovely images for this month and you can find them all at their store HERE

For my card today I chose to use the new Package Elf – it’s so nice that they always seem to have boy images in their releases. I coloured him with my Prismacolor pencils and blended them with Sansodor (UK Gamsol). For my patterned papers I used some Christmas papers from an old Papermania paper pad. To finish the card I stamps a greeting in Versamagic ink using a stamp from Hot off the Press and frames it with a metal frame inked with alcohol inks and added to grosgrain ribbon.

Robyn’s Fetish – Wacky Wednesday Freebie, Paula Pilgrim

Today sees the launch of the new Wacky Wednesday Freebie from Robyn's Fetish. If you would like to download this image then please go to the challenge blog – you can use the link HERE

Rather than show you a preview of the freebie I thought I would show you a card using the image instead

I coloured the image with my Prismacolor pencils and blended them with a Lyra Splender Blender. My patterned papers are from The English Paper Company. To complete the card I added a greeting stamped in Versamagic ink using a stamp from a Hot of the Press set and framed it with a metal frame inked with alcohol inks and attached with snaps, finally I added some grosgrain ribbon.

Sewn Together Challenge #11

Hi Everyone

SO it is time to launch the new weekly challenge from Sew Many Cards – this weeks challenge is a Technique Challenge and as the images are known as Sewn Together the technique to be used this week is STITCHING!!! Obvious really right!

If you would like to take part all the details can be found on Angela’s blog HERE, you can also enter the challenge there too.

For the challenge this week I chose to use another image of Halen in Hat, she is so cute and as she has the Breast Cancer Symbol on her hat I thought I had to use her. I coloured her with my copic ciao markers using colours that matched my papers from K & Company’s K Studio Orange Stripes pad. For the technique I use a stitching template to add stitching to the edge and used glitter thread for the actual stitching. to finish the card I added a punched border and some grosgrain ribbon.

Back to my speak peek – the image I used was Halen with Dragonfly and the sneak peek came from this card

For this card I coloured Halen with my Prismacolor pencils and blended them with Sansodor (UK Gamsol). Robyn’s Fetish Weekly Challenge #4

Hi Everyone

Well here we are again with the next weekly challenge from Robyn's Fetish. This week is a Sketch Challenge and you can find all the details about is over on the Challenge blog HERE

Not only have we set a sketch challenge using one of the Robyn’s Fetish digi images but we have also asked that you only use patterend papers and card stock from your scraps box. Well we thought it would be a way to use up some of those scraps that we all keep meaning to use some time!!

Well I suppose I should stop talking and show you my take on the challenge!!

For this challenge I thought I would use one of the new releases called Raquel – I love the new images Robyn came up with!!! I coloured her with my Prismacolor pencils and blended them with Sansodor (UK Gamsol). The paper scraps I used were from a Papermania paper pad called Spring Burst. To complete the card I added some bought crochet trim, some fuchsia flower soft to the flower and made some flowers using two sizes of X-cut Daisy punches and added a rhinestone in the centres.

Sew Many Cards – Freebie Friday Bear

Hi Everyone

Today see the release of the new Freebie Friday digi stamp over at Sew Many Cards. The freebie this week is an ever so cute teddy bear!!! My mum collects teddy bears so I can see her going made for this image!!!

So I thought rather than just show you the image as it comes in the download I would make a quick card with him for you, well I couldn’t resist playing with him if I’m completely honest!!

So here is the card I made with him!!! I coloured him with my Prismacolor pencils and blended them with Sansodor (UK Gamsol). I chose some Diecuts with a View papers from my scraps bag and to finish the card off I added some ribbon and a buckle, and finally a balloon button and some chord.

The Character Cafe – Witches Brew Challenge

Hi Everyone

This will be my last weekly challenge as a member of the Character Cafe Design Team, unfortunately I’ve had to leave the team due to a conflict of interests now that I am part owner of a different Digi stamp company.

Our challenge this week is hosted my Piali and she set us a Recipe challenge with a difference – to make a card using Halloween papers but not make it a traditional Halloween card but for another occasion instead and it had to be glittery too

So here is the card that I came up with

For my card I used one ot their older images called Fairy Belle and coloured her with my Prismacolor pencils and blended them with Sansodor (UK Gamsol) then I added some clear Sakura Glitter pen over some areas. The papers are from a Diecuts with a View kit that I purchased from QVCUK. To finish the card I cut out my greeting with my ‘Girls are Weird’ Sizzlet dies and covered them with glitter glue, the spiders are cut with a Quickutz die and the legs have been glittered with a Sakura glitter pen and I added some grosgrain and organza ribbon.

Here is a closer look at Fairy Belle – please mind the colouring though as I’m still trying to get the hang of the Prismacolor pencils!!!

Sewn Together Challenge #10

Hi Everyone

Firstly I have to make a HUGE apology that this post is two days late, I’ve had some family issues that have had to take priority but thankfully they are beginning to resolve themselves and I managed to get my card for this weeks Sew Many Cards challenge done!!!

The challenge for this week is a Theme Challenge – to make a card/paper crafts project using any Sewn Together Digi Stamp that has a Thanksgiving/Fall Theme to it (or Autumn as it is called in the UK), you also have to use brads, buttons or flowers (or all of them!)

Although in the UK we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving I was still really excited to do this challenge as I adore working with the stamps that Angela creates. So here is the card that I came up with.

I know I’ve told you this many times before but Angela’s Tiger image called Tayla is my absolute favourite of all the characters she designs, so when I found that she had made an image of Tayla as a Pilgrim then I knew which image I had to use for this weeks challenge. For this card I coloured her with my new Prismacolor pencils (please be kind this is only the second image I’ve coloured with them!) and blended them with Sansodor (UK version of Gamsol). To compliment the image and the theme of the challenge I used some papers from a Diecuts with a View set that I purchased from QVCUK. To finish off the card I added some grosgrain ribbon and some shaped buttons from my stash.

KLM Designs November Releases Sneak Peek

Hi Everyone

Well can you believe that October is nearly over!!! I can’t! There is always a good side to the end of the month because it means that we are very near to the new releases from KLM Designs being available!!! I have to say that I thought Octobers one’s were amazing BUT the ones for November are brilliant – I can honestly say you are going to love them!!!

As we are near to the launch of these fab digi stamps the Design Team are now allowed to show you a sneak peek of some of what is coming on November.

So would you like to see what KLM Designs have come up with???? Okay I’ll show you – but only one, for now!!!

For my Sneak Peek I decided to use the ever so cute Snowman with Quilt. I just adore snowmen and this one has to be one of the cutest I’ve seen in a long time – the only thing is I’m a bit worried that he might get a bit too warm with that quilt!!!

I chose to colour him with my copic ciao markers and chose my colours to co-ordinate with my patterned papers. The papers are from a Diecuts with a View stack and I cut one of the words from a sheet to use as text on the card. To finish my card I added some organza and satin ribbon and attached a snowman charm with some jump rings.

A Partridge in a pear tree

Hi Everyone

So today I thought I would show you a card I made using one of the new Christmas Sets from Prickley Pear. They are lovely images and the quality of the stamps is brilliant.

I wanted to have a ‘play’ whilst I was working and I didn’t really have any idea in my head of what I was trying to achieve. I just knew that I wanted to use these particular stamps and my Tim Holtz Distress inks.

I started with a piece of white gloss cardstock and added some Fired Brick and Peeled Paint distress ink all over with my blending tool. I also added a tiny amount of Pine Needle to the corners. I then used the Aged Mahogany inkpad to stamp the Partridge in the tree over the top. Once that had dried I inked the outline stamp of the partridge with Shabby Shutters and stamped off the edge of the gloss card, to stop it smudging I dried the images with my heatgun which made the images look like that had been done with a resist technique instead. I also used the text stamp from the set on the gloss card, inked with Fired brick but before I stamped it on there I stamped on scrap paper so that I had a lighter impression.

For the card base I started with plain white cardstock and coloured it with Fried brick and my blending tool. After it was dry I stamped to silhouette partridge with Pine Needle ink and the text with Fired brick, making sure to stamp off the edges too. To tie everything together I also used the Peeled Paint ink and blending tool around the edge of my patterned paper. Finally I added some organza ribbon and a faux metal tag to complete the card.

I’m really pleased with how it turned out and have to say I had a blast just playing!!!! I think I might just have to have another go!!

Robyn’s Fetish Weekly Challenge #3

Hi Everyone

I cannot believe how quickly the time seems to be passing recently – is it really a week since I posted the last Robyn's Fetish challenge card???

This weeks challenge is a Technique challenge – to make a card/paper crafts project using a Robyn’s Fetish image and stitching on the project – however you cannot use faux stitching or a sewing machine!!!! If you would like to play along with this challenge then please check out the Robyn's Fetish Challenge blog for all the details and how to enter.

For my card this week I wanted to use one of the little girl designs, this one is called Me and My Bear – I think she is really lovely. I coloured her with my copic markers and added some patterned papers from a Diecuts with a View stack. As the challenge was to use stitching a added a stitched border to my card using a pricking template to get the pattern, because of the stitching I only added a greeting sticker from Papermania and some ribbon for Making Memories to complete the card.

New Release Images from Robyn’s Fetish

Hi Everyone

Today Robyn's Fetish are launching nine new digi stamps into the range. To celebrate we have a sketch challenge going on over on the Challenge blog where you could win the newly released images!!! The challenge will end at 11.59pm EST Sunday 25th October – so why not head on over and give it a go!!

The new releases are also reduced by 15% for this weekend only to celebrate their launch, so now is the best time to go to the store and grab yours before the go back to their original price on Monday.

We have also asked some of our Design Team if they would like to play with the new releases so why not take a visit to their blogs and see what they have done with them – each DT member has a different image.

So I thought I would also show you a card made with one of the new stamps.

For my card I used the ever so cute Penny. Once again I coloured her with my copic markers to match with my papers from K & Company. To finish off my card I added some paper flowers with rhinestones in the centre.

Papertake Weekly Challenge – with The Character Cafe

Hi Everyone

So we have reached Friday again which means it is time for another challenge using the new October releases from The Character Cafe. As previously explained the Design Team members are split into two groups, one group partake in a challenge hosted by a DT member and the other group find a challenge from blogsville to take part in.

For this week I am one of the group doing a challenge from anywhere on the internet – so I have chosen a sketch challenge from Papertake Weekly. You can find all the details and the sketch on their blog.

I decided for my card to use the new Snowman digi stamp. I coloured him with my copic makers and used some matching colours of paper from Diecuts with a View. To finish the card I added some grosgrain ribbon and some meta snowflakes attached with brads.

Wacky Wednesday – Shop till you drop

Hi Everyone

Well we have reached that time of the week again!!! It’s time to reveal the new Wacky Wednesday Freebie Image from Robyn's Fetish. The download for this weeks image can be found on the Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog , however once the new image is released next week then the link fir this weeks freebie will vanish and it will only be available through the store

Our image this week is the lovely Shop till you drop. Below you will find a card made using this freebie.

For this card I coloured the image with my copic markers to match my papers from a Hot off the Press Cardmakers pad. To finish the card I punched some holes with my big bite and laced through some fibres and tied them in a bow, I also tied the same fibres through some co-ordinating buttons.

Sewn Together Challenge #9

Hi Everyone

Today sees the start of the Sew Many Cards weekly challenge. As always the challenges run for a week and you can find all the details on the Sew Many Cards Blog.

The Challenge for this week is a Sketch Challenge. I’ve never really been one to uses sketches from blogsville as I usually create my own but I have to say it’s really fun working to someone else’s layout.

For my card I thought I would use one of Angela’s newest designs called Tayla Boo Boo – Tayla has always been a favourite of mine since the beginning so when Angela sent us this design I knew I had to use her. I coloured her with my copic markers and found some co-ordinating papers from Papermania to use with it. To finish the card I added some crochet trim and a papermania text sticker.

Pilgrim Scott by KLM Designs

Hi Everyone

For my card today I decided to use another of the lovely and cute new release for October from KLM Design . They are all so sweet and fun to use that they make creating with them easy even if, like me, you don't celebrate Thanks Giving.
For my card I thought I would use Pilgrim Scott - I didn't however want to do him in traditional colours, so I used colours that were in my papers I wanted to use. I coloured him with my copics and used papers from a Hot off the Press Cardmakers pad. As the images are so nice I didn't want to embellish it too much so I used a border punch and some organza ribbon to finish it off.

Breast Cancer Spring Card

Hi Everyone

Today sees the start for my tutorials on the Robyn's Fetish Tutorial Blog ! I super excited about this and extremely nervous all at the same time!!!!

So my first week I wanted to keep it quite simple, so I have chosen a Spring Card. I won't give you all the instructions on my blog but if you would like them and a template then they are all over on the RF tutorial blog for you.

This is the finished card stood up like it would be on display (sorry for the poor picture but my hubbies camera doesn't like me and I couldn't scan it stood up!)

For this card I decided to use on of the images from the Robyn's Fetish Breast Cancer set. I coloured her with my copic markers and used colours that matched my papers from a Diecuts with a View stack. To finish the card I added some grosgrain ribbon, metal flowers attached with brads and some charms hung on jump rings.

This is the finished card laid flat so that you can see it a little better.

Prickley Pear's First Blog Hop and Challenge!!!!

For my card I used one of the amazing new Christmas releases for this year. I stamped the tree and partridge with Broken China Distress Ink so that it would match my papers from a Diecuts with a View Christmas stack. To finish the card I added some grosgrain ribbon, and metal snowflakes from Making Memories and Papermania.

I really hope that you like it. I love these stamps so much and I know I'm going to have to play again soon!!

Robyns Fetish Weekly Challenge #2

Hi Everyone

So it's time for the next Robyn's Fetish weekly challenge over on the Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog

The challenge for this week is a Theme Challenge - to make a card/paper crafts project with a Halloween theme, using an RF image, 2 patterned papers and NO ribbon!!!

So for my card I chose to use my favourite Halloween image from Robyn's Fetish - Spider n Web, I love him so much yet I'm terrified of spiders!!! I went back to using my copics to colour him for this project. The patterned papers are from Diecuts with a View and to finish the card I added some chipboard letters that I coloured black with my copics.

Robyn's Fetish Breast Cancer Blog Hop 2009

Hi Everyone

Today Robyn's Fetish are having a blog hop to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness. We are hoping that this will be the first annual hop to celebrate this special charity.

You should have arrived at my blog from Wendy's Blog if not then please start the hop at the Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog

As part of the celebration's Robyn has designed a special Breast Cancer Awareness Digi Stamp set, the set retails for $10, however for the duration of the 24 hours blog hop (until 11.59pm Saturday 17th October) the price will be $5 and 50% of the proceeds will go to the Charity.

The challenge that I set for the Design Team for this blog hop was to make a card/paper crafts project that uses mainly PINK and a digi stamp from the Breast Cancer Awareness set.

For my card I chose to use two of the digi stamps and to try and use as few colours as possible other than pink. I coloured the little girl with my faber castell pencils and blended them with sansodor (UK gamsol) and for the dress image I covered it with two way glue at added sparkly flocking powder in two different pinks. I chose some papers from the Papermania Blueberry Hill paper pad and made a wardrobe for the dress to hang on and used a purchased mini hanger for the dress. To finish the card I added brads to the wardrobe doors and some grosgrain ribbon

The Character Cafe - Feature Friday Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone

Every Friday the members of The Character Cafe either look for a challenge in blogsville to take part in using one of the amazing Character Cafe images or we are a part of a challenge hosted by one of the team - this week I am a part of the team that is being hosted by Diane at The Character Cafe Blog. The challenge she set us was a sketch challenge using the sketch below.
So I decided to use another one of the images that was released at the beginning of October called Dayzee. Having two daughters I knew this image would be so useful and an image that I could have fun with colour on. Once again I chose to use my faber castell pencils and sansador (UK gamsol) instead of my copics. My papers are from a Provocraft Rob n Bob paper pack and I finished the card with some organza ribbon, faux gems in a flowers shape and finally a Making Memories metal sentiment.

For the backing papers I chose some from a Hot off the Press Cardmakers pad and inked the edges with distress inks in Walnut Stain and Peeled Paint. I finished the card with some wire and faux star gems and added a Making Memories metal word.

Sewn Together DT Challenge #8

Hi Everyone

So it's that time again!!! For the start of the new Sew Many Cards challenge!

The challenge this time was to create a card/paper crafts project using only the colours Pink, White & Green for our paper, card stock and embellishments! We could however use other colours for our image - phew!

For my card I decided to use one for the new images of Jaden the giraffe! She looks so cute in her little pram! Just for a change I coloured her with my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and blended with sansador (UK gamsol) - and before you ask! no my copics haven't run out! I thought with the colours set I would use some papers from a Making Memories Kid set. I wanted to keep it quite simple so I only added a ribbon for embellishment.

First Wacky Wednesday Freebie

Hi Everyone

This is just a quick post to let you know that every Wednesday Robyn's Fetish will be giving away a freebie digital images as we launch our new Wacky Wednesday Freebie!!! The freebie image will be available on the Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog so please check it out each week.

Now I know that I'm days late for the first official Wacky Wednesday but I wanted to let you know about it anyways and show you what I did with it!

So for the first freebie image we are giving away Wanda the Witch - Robyn decided on her as the holiday season is very soon. As part of the Grand Opening Party we were running quickie challenges and I set one to make a Halloween card or ATC and Robyn also set a challenge to let everyone see a project that was your first time doing that type of paper craft. So I decided to make an ATC because although I adore all things paper crafts I never managed to get round to making one and this gave me the perfect excuse.

I chose to colour her with my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and then blend them with sansador (UK version of gamsol) just for a change. For the rest of the ATC I decided to use leftovers from my scraps bag, the candy corn paper is from Diecuts with a View, as is the coloured card and them I also added some grosgrain ribbon, bling and a pumpkin charm from my stash.

So I hope you like my first ever ATC! Don't forget that there will be a new freebie released every Wednesday and you may also want to check the Design Teams blogs too as they might have some inspiration for you eack week with the freebie image! And remember there are many other digi stamps and stickers in this range just waiting for you to come and adopt them over at the Robyn's Fetish Store

Robyns Fetish Weekly Challenge #1

Hi Everyone

So today See's the start of the first weekly challenge on the Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog .

These challenges will begin early every Saturday morning and will run until 12pm EST the following Friday.

The challenge I set for this week is a Colour Challenge and you can find out all the details on the Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog along with info on how to enter the challenge and what you could win!

So for my creation I thought I would use one of our images called A Flower for You - I absolutely adore these little girls that Robyn designs! I coloured her with my copic markers and because of the challenge I set I chose to use some Making Memories papers from one of their 6x6 pads. To finish the card I used a woodware border punch and added some grosgrain ribbon, faux pearls and buttons threaded with fibres from my stash

Robyns Fetish Grand Opening Party! - Blog Hop!

We're having a Blog Hop Party!!!!

For my card I chose to use a forthcoming image called Doll with Present and coloured her with my copic markers. I chose to use some papers from a Making Memories paper pad and to finish the card I added some grosgrain ribbon, some chipboard letters and a We R Memory Keepers special grommet.
